“Thanks to the fact that his family and friends in Nicaragua managed to raise the amount of money for his repatriation, they were accompanied and the repatriation was achieved. We extend to his wife, children and other relatives our sincere condolences and strength, “adds TNC.

The bodies of Melvin Alexander Zelaya Hurtado and José Antonio García Ramírez, who drowned in the Rio Grande, were also recently repatriated. Zelaya’s ashes and García’s body were sent on an Avianca airline flight, which landed at the Augusto C. Sandino International Airport in Managua on November 27.
Both bodies remained in the morgue of a hospital in Laredo, Texas, in the United States; since May 26. That day, the citizens tried to cross the Rio Grande, but were swept away by the waters.
Like these two citizens, other Nicaraguans have lost their lives trying to cross the Rio Grande, trying to reach the United States. Many have decided to migrate for economic reasons or because of the persecution that the Daniel Ortega regime has carried out against opponents.
