The former Celta player said goodbye to the squad, but he did not inform the Galo board of his decision
The address of the At. Mineiro will claim the 3.2 million of his termination clause from the Argentine coach
Eduardo Coudet’s tortuous adventure at the helm of At was over. mineiroone of the clubs with the best squad in Brazil and South America.
The former Celta de Vigo coach spoke in a farewell tone to the locker room on Saturday after the draw at home (1-1) against Red Bull Bragantino, in a match of the tenth round of the Brasileirao. The most normal thing would have been to communicate his decision to the sports management or the club’s board of directors… but he did not.
And on Sunday the Frenchman published a brief two-point statement, which drew attention for its unprecedented content: “1. Yesterday, June 10, in the Mineirao locker room, after the game against Red Bull, coach Eduardo Coudet informed everyone present of his decision to leave the club. 2. Given this fact, Coudet no longer he’s more our coach.”
The mess is served, because the At. Mineiro has already reported that he plans to ask ‘Chacho’ Coudet for 3.2 million euros corresponding to its termination clause, understanding that it can be applied because the contract, valid until the end of 2024, has been unilaterally terminated.
The relationship between Coudet and the Frenchman’s board has been very tortuous since the announcement of his arrival in November last year. The technician has repeatedly complained that neither the board of directors nor the patrons of the entity have kept their word. And, according to his version, instead of strengthening the squad to go after all the clubs, they have dedicated themselves to weakening the group with constant departures.
The At. Mineiro was eliminated by Corinthians in the round of 16 of the Copa do Brasil. In the Copa Libertadores, everything is on his way to reach the round of 16 after a group stage in which he has gone from less to more. And, in the Brasileirao, played ten days, is fifth classified with 18 to six points behind the leader, the surprising Botafogo.
