The Somos Perú bench will hear, next week, the defenses of Congressman José Jeri, for the complaint of alleged sexual rape that occurred last December.

The meeting of the members of the aforementioned parliamentary group will be via zoom because not all its members are in Lima.
“I don’t put my hands in the fire for him,” said the congressman and spokesman for the Somos Perú group, Héctor Valer, when asked about the complaint, and explained that it is a delicate fact, and that before giving his opinion he has to — together with the members of their political group—listen to their testimony.
After listening to José Jerí’s defenses, the bench will make the decision whether or not to remove the aforementioned congressman from the bench.
However, as is public knowledge, the Somos Perú party has suspended Jeri’s membership due to the complaint of sexual abuse.
REQUESTS THAT HE BE INVESTIGATED IN ETHICS
In a press conference this Thursday, Congressman Jeri asked that the Ethics Commission initiate an investigation against him for the aforementioned complaint.
José Jeri’s press conference broadcast by Perú21.
“From the first day I made myself available to the Public Ministry, because I am the first person interested in clarifying this complaint. I have nothing to hide and I trust that the truth will come to light,” said Jerí.
He also rejected accusations of having entered the room where the attack allegedly occurred. “I was not in that room nor was there any inappropriate behavior on my part at any time,” he said.
Furthermore, he categorically denied having had a romantic relationship with the complainant: “There was never any emotional bond or any type of personal interest with her.”
