The beaten Mexico of Tata Martino wants to shake off against Ecuador

The Mexican team led by Gerardo ‘Tata’ Martino will face Ecuador in a friendly on Sunday (7:30 p.m.) in Chicago, aiming to appease the criticism surrounding El Tri’s present heading to the Qatar-2022 World Cup.

Last Wednesday, the Tata Martino team was overwhelmed 3-0 by Uruguay, a result that generated all kinds of reactions in the North American country.

With that 3-0 against, the Argentine and his players were exposed to serious criticism. The historic former soccer player Hugo Sánchez, now a television commentator, demanded “react” because “the image we are giving is not good and we do not want to look ridiculous” in the World Cup.

After suffering one of the worst falls since he began his time as Mexico coach in 2019, Martino will seek to stabilize El Tri against Ecuador, a team he considers “a very careful rival, made up of good individuals.”

– “Change of DT is the simplest” –

After the defeat, the ex-DT of the Albirroja maintained that Mexico competed well but was a prisoner of attention errors, in addition to the lack of forcefulness added to the inability to generate offensive play.

Regarding a possible departure from the post, ‘Tata’ stated: “Changing the coach is the simplest thing and the analysis is the most difficult, and we resort to the simplest. We must avoid this and more so because we have a World Cup”.
