The Electoral Tribunal (TE) informed the members of the Panameñista Party that they are still campaigning for the primary elections, that they have until 11:59 p.m. today, Thursday, July 20, 2023, to proselytize, since from 12:01 a.m. on Friday the 21st the reflection period begins and, therefore, the electoral ban.

The dissemination of electoral propaganda, paid or donated, in favor of or against citizens or parties, as well as caravans and concentrations, is prohibited. They must refrain from distributing promotional items, sponsoring events in which the name of the party is used and advertising in conventional and digital media.

Article 265 of the Electoral Code states that this prohibition includes billboards, so they must be removed at the expiration of the respective campaign period, by the party, the responsible pre-candidate or the company hired for advertising.

In case of non-compliance, the respective Regional Directorate of Electoral Organization (DROE) will proceed with its removal, confiscation and corresponding sanctions.

For this primary election, electoral observers from the Inter-American Union of Electoral Organizations (UNIORE) will participate, who will closely follow the development of the process with the purpose of guaranteeing the democratic rights of citizens to elect and be elected.
