The automotive market in Colombia reached a record number of registrations in 2025 and greater sales of electric and hybrid vehicles.
The new vehicle market in Colombia closed 2025 with a largely positive balance. According to the report presented by Fenalco and ANDI, during the year 254,205 vehicleswhich represented a 26.5% growth compared to 2024 and the best annual result since 2019. The behavior was driven by a strong rebound in the second semester, especially in December, the month that recorded the highest volume of registrations of the year.
December established itself as the best month of the yearwith 30,135 registered vehiclesa figure that meant a 19% increase compared to the same month in 2024. This result was supported by the good performance of the truck, pickup and van segments, which recorded increases of up to 77%, 45.1% and 67.3%respectively. Also highlighted was the sustained growth of electric and hybrid vehicleswhich reached their highest historical levels.

In the annual accumulated, the electric vehicles they reached 19,724 unitswith a 115% growthwhile the hybrids they came to 67,899 recordswhich represented a 59% increase compared to the previous year. These results consolidate the trend of greater participation of low and zero emissions technologies within the national market.
What brands sold the most in Colombia during 2025?
In December, the brands with the highest number of registrations were Kia, Renault, Mazda, Chevrolet and BYDwhich together concentrated the 47% of the monthly market. Throughout the year, the five brands with the most registrations were Kia, Renault, Toyota, Mazda and Chevroletwhich represented the 52.7% of the total vehicles registered in 2025.
By lines, the models with the highest participation in December were Renault Duster, Mazda CX-30, Kia K3, Kia Picanto and BYD Yuan Upwhile in the accumulated annual period they led the market Kia K3, Renault Duster, Mazda CX-30, Kia Picanto and Toyota Corolla Crosswhich together concentrated more than 16% of the national total.

Regional dynamics and territorial behavior
In territorial terms, Bogota led the number of registrations during December with more than 10,000 unitsfollowed by Medellín, Cali and Barranquilla. However, the greatest percentage variations were recorded in intermediate cities such as Sincelejo, Manizales, Villavicencio and Armeniawith growth over 60% compared to the same month of the previous year.
At the departmental level, Bogotá, Antioquia and Cundinamarca concentrated the highest volume of enrollment in 2025, although departments such as Caldas, Sucre and Santander showed the largest percentage increases in the year.
The figures of the ANDI and Fenalco confirm that 2025 was a year of sustained recovery and expansion for the Colombian automotive sector, with widespread growth by regions, segments and technologies, according to data consolidated by Fenalco and ANDI.
