The Attorney General’s Office will hold workshops in border areas

In commemoration of National Human Rights Daythe deputy attorney general of the nation, Silvano Gomez Strauch, He said that the entity will initiate inter-institutional working groups in the departments of Atlántico, Arauca, La Guajira, Nariño, Norte de Santander and the Urabá region. All with the aim of identifying the difficulties and processes required by migrants from the country to live with dignity.

“We have identified a series of findings that should be highlighted: the absence of strategies for advice and guidance to the migrant population; barriers to access to health services; and limited access for children, children and adolescents to educational services”, Gomez stated.

In addition, the deputy attorney general also referred to the situation of human rights defenders in the country. Gómez rejected the 122 murders of social leaders that have been registered so far this year; He called for justice to be done in these cases and for all expressions of violence against him to cease.
