The State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) chose to refer the request for an immigration alert to the La Paz prosecutor’s office against former President Evo Morales, requested by former parliamentarians Yesenia Yarhui and Amilcar Barral, through a memorial. The head of the MAS responded to that note by accusing the government of imitating the actions of the Government of Jeanine Áñez.

I refer this note and its background to the knowledge of your authority, so that within the framework of its powers established in art. 34.3 of Law 260, process it as appropriate and that the Matter Prosecutors in charge of the processes referred to in it“Determine what is legally appropriate,” says Sucre’s note, which gives a period of three days to report a result.

“Today, as in the Áñez government and the neoliberal regimes, we face more than ten criminal proceedings activated simultaneously, violating due process, issuing immigration alerts and illegal arrest warrants” was the response that Morales published through his personal account on social networks.

The immigration alert request was delivered by Yarhui on Wednesday, October 9that same day the director of fiscal management, Roberto Almendras Gamarra sent the note to La Paz and gave a period of three days to send him a report, a document that should have been sent on Friday, October 11.

The FGE requests a report on “the processes” that Barral and Yarhui mentioned in their note and the processes mentioned are: Gabriela Zapata and Camc case; Fondioc embezzlement; Chinese barges case; Army Construction case; YPFB and Catler Uniservice; and finally Air Catering SRL, which together add up to more than $1 billion in damages to the State, the complainants point out.

Therefore The request for an immigration alert must go through the report on those six casesalthough several have already been closed and the former president is not accused in any of them. This Monday the La Paz prosecutor’s office must issue a report on the progress of that request.
