The Attorney General of the Nation would answer for the José Domingo Pérez case before the Oversight Commission

Congresswoman Norma Yarrow He issued a statement in an official letter addressed to the President of the Oversight Committee, Juan Bartolome Burgos Oliverosrequesting that he summon the Attorney General, Juan Carlos Villenato explain the reason why the continuation of the investigation against prosecutor José Domingo Pérez for alleged illicit enrichment was not ordered.

The congresswoman, in her capacity as a member of the Oversight and Comptroller’s Commission of the Congress of the Republicdetailed in his request that, according to a report released by the Willax program, there would be an alleged equity imbalance not justified by Sunday Perez. Therefore, he pointed out that the continuation of the corresponding preliminary investigation has not been ordered and requests the Attorney General to respond to this.

“Regarding a report dated August 19, 2024 prepared by the senior prosecutor Reggis Oliver Chávez Sánchezwhich reveals that the provincial prosecutor Jose Domingo Perez Gomez has not been able to justify an increase in assets of S/ 65,362.99 between 2018 and 2022. Worse still, between 2022 and 2023 it accumulated an additional balance of S/ 66,355.48.”, the congresswoman indicated in said document.

“For these reasons, more than a month having passed since learning of the report, to date the formalization and continuation of the preliminary investigation against the prosecutor José Domingo Pérez Gómez has not been ordered,” he added.

Prosecutor José Domingo Pérez requested that his case be closed for alleged illicit enrichment.

Domingo Pérez pointed out that Carolina Tubilla is linked to the APRA party and the former congressman Jorge Del Castillolawyer of the former prosecutor Patricia Benavides.
