The Attorney General of the Nation, Juan Carlos Villenarequested details from the Government Palace about the vehicles used from January 2023 to the present, after it became known that Vladimir Cerrón, owner of Perú Libre, was able to flee in one of those cars.

Villena took action after an audio recording was released featuring the Minister of the Interior, Juan José Santiváñez, and PNP Captain Junior Izquierdo in which the former is heard saying that Cerrón fled with one of the vehicles that serve the Presidency of the Republic.
In fiscal provision No. 1, to which he accessed Peru21the start of the documentary collection is indicated to determine whether it is appropriate to begin an investigation.
In addition to the cars, the Prosecutor’s Office requested the names of the drivers who worked in the Presidency during the same period of time and the logbook of the use of official vehicles assigned between January 1 and August 31, 2024.
The Supreme Prosecutor also requested a documented report from the Police General Command on the failed operation to capture the former governor of Junín.
The conversation between Santiváñez and Izquierdo, recorded by the latter, is revealing. “Do you remember that the president’s coffer was on the beach? I was going to look for Cerrón” was what Santiváñez said to the officer known as ‘culebra’, according to the audio that he gave to the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
“Why did they see the chest on the beach that day? Because he was moving around in the chest so that the police wouldn’t stop him. And since the chest was on the beach, why? Because they had already left it in Pisco. And the chest (unintelligible), but when they see it in Primax, they had already left it in Pisco. Do you understand me?” he continues.
The car assigned to President Boluarte, license plate WGR-844, is armored and cannot be intercepted anywhere in the country.
On February 24 of this year, he was photographed at kilometer 107 of the Panamericana Sur highway, in Asia, a few meters from the Mikonos condominium, where a month earlier the police tried to capture Cerrón, who has been on the run for more than 300 days.
