The aggression suffered by an 11-year-old Venezuelan boy in a school in Lima has generated the rejection in Peru, in addition to the reaction of the authorities to attend to the injuries suffered by the schoolboy, as well as to punish those responsible.
The minor, identified as Jhoangel Zambrano Alvarado, suffered a cervical sprain and a stroke after a classmate allegedly tried to suffocate him and hit him on the head when he fell to the ground, according to his family to local media.
The parents sought the help of the press after the director of the Víctor Raúl Haya de la Torre school, in the Lima district of Puente Piedra, avoided intervening in the case and the hospital that treated him wanted to discharge him. This despite the sequelae it has such as vomiting, seizures and headaches.
For this reason, the family went to social networks to ask for help in order to care for the minor who requires a surgical intervention.
The Ministry of Education announced this Friday that an investigation was ordered to determine the responsibilities in this case of school aggression. He also said that he coordinates with the Ministry of Health to provide facilities to the family until the child’s recovery is achieved.
In turn, the Ministry of Women and Vulnerable Populations condemned the aggression suffered by the minor. He stressed that all migrants have rights that must be respected and guaranteed.

It also reported that the Comprehensive National Program for Family Welfare provides social guidance and emotional support. In addition to coordination with the infant’s local support network to guarantee their health care.
In this case, the Venezuelan Embassy in Peru also “strongly” condemned the brutal aggression to which the Venezuelan child was subjected.
“We are initiating negotiations with the institutions of the Peruvian State in order to demand immediate action at the school, police and judicial levels. In order to apply the full weight of the law to those responsible,” the embassy said on its Twitter account.

He added that they are providing all the consular support to the family and the respective accompaniment. This “until the full recovery of Jhoangel” and the clarification of the case.
Peru has 1.3 million Venezuelans in its territory, according to UN figures. A flow that grew as a result of the facilities offered by former President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski (2016-2018) in his government for those fleeing the political and humanitarian crisis in the oil country.
