The ATE union asked the Government for the immediate review of the 2022 parity

The organization also claimed compliance with the goals set forth in the 2020 Comprehensive Plan for the Regularization of Public Employment

The leadership of the State Workers Association (ATE), led by Hugo Godoy, requested this Friday to the Labor Minister, Raquel Olmos, and the Secretary of Public Employment Management, Ana Castellanithe immediate review of the 2022 parity in a context in which “inflation conspires against the purchasing power of wages.”

A document signed by Godoy, the deputy and organization secretaries, Rodolfo Aguiar and Mercedes Cabezas, and the union’s director of Collective Bargaining, Flavio Vergara, indicated that the officials received the claim through notes sent this Friday before “the constant process inflationary conspiring against the workers”.

ATE also demanded the incorporation of a fixed sum of 30,000 pesos as an “integral part of the salary” and that the income of the personnel included in the “most postponed” sectoral collective labor agreements be reinforced.

“The salary is not enough. There are still workers with salaries below the poverty line. Some sectoral collective agreements begin at income levels much lower than the basic food basket. It is not possible to naturalize that those who perform tasks in the national State be poor,” said the leaders.

The union organization also claimed the compliance with the goals set forth in the Comprehensive Plan for the Regularization of Public Employment of 2020because ending “job precariousness requires an effective State policy”, and maintained that of the 30,000 committed employees, only 2,200 were still appointed to their positions.

Details of claims filed

The letters to Olmos and Castellani included 14 points, among which the union ratified the need to reinstate those laid off during the macrismo, the improvement of working conditions, horizontal progression, overtime, presenteeism and licenses.

The unionists noted that the immediate call for the national peer review of 2022 had been agreed last September for this month, and explained that more than 132,000 workers “await this instance of improvement.”

“Inflation, which in 2022 was 94.8 percent, conspires against purchasing power. This figure is the highest since 1991 and, according to the report Results of the Survey of Market Expectations (REM) of the Central Bank (BCRA) , would accumulate 29.4 percent between January and May and 98.4 this year,” they said.

ATE claimed raise salary floors with “a redistributive criterion of wealth, social justice and equity”; an effective State policy against job insecurity and adapt the normative and conventional tools to speed up competitions and guarantee access to permanent employment and stability.

The organization also requested in the letters to Olmos and Castellani the update of the values of the grades (horizontal progression) in all the sectoral collective agreements that depend on the general instrument 214/06, extend overtime without caps, incorporate presenteeism to the salary , recognize technical titles from national schools and postgraduate degrees and eliminate the 12-month trial period.

“This is necessary for the full stability of those who regularize employment with 5 years or more of work experience. The agreed salary guideline must be extended to monotributistas, and the system of licenses, justifications and franchises – in force since the dictatorship – for a Rights Agreement”, they concluded.
