The Artiguista Slope, -the sector of the Broad Front that includes Fernando Pereira, Mariano Arana, Enrique Rubio, among others-, decided this Saturday to support Yamandú Orsi, current mayor of Canelones, as a pre-candidate for the Presidency in the next internal elections of 2024.
The management of the sector resolved today to promote the name of the Canarian community chief, considering him the figure that could have the best performance in a contest with the current ruling party.
Among the elements that led the sector to make this decision, the members of the Artiguista Slope highlighted that Orsi “shows great potential for convocation within and outside the borders” of the Broad Front. The political grouping made this decision unanimously from its Plenary in the Seregni Footprint.
The mayor commented “It is a commitment and enormous pride that a group like La Vertiente with the years behind it and history decide to support me”
