Leaders of the entire Argentine political arc greeted this Sunday night through social networks the President-elect of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, for his victory in the run-off against current president Jair Bolsonaroand highlighted the importance of an alliance between the neighboring country and Argentina to consolidate the Latin American region.

President Albert Fernandez and the Vice President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner they were the first to echo Lula’s victory.

Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Santiago Cafiero stated that “Argentina is reunited with a great ally and the institutions of Latin America recover an exceptional leader”, and assured: “We will work together for a region in peace and with social justice.”

Meanwhile, former president Mauricio Macri wrote on his social networks: “I want to congratulate the Brazilian people for this democratic day and @LulaOficial for being elected President of Brazil. I hope we continue working to strengthen the bond between our countries.”

For his part, the head of the Buenos Aires Government, Horacio Rodríguez Larreta, greeted the “brother people of Brazil for the democratic day they have celebrated and especially Lula.”

“Working together with Brazil is key to regaining international trust and growing. We have to put integration at the center of the agenda, seeking a Mercosur that is more open to the world and taking advantage of the context to consolidate ourselves as suppliers of food and energy,” Rodríguez said. Larreta on Twitter and wished “many successes to the president-elect.”

The Minister of the Interior, Eduardo “Wado” de Pedro, pointed out that “today a path of hope with peace and democracy is being consolidated for Latin America” ​​and the Chief of Staff, Juan Manzur, celebrated “this enormous democratic day with which another chapter of hope, peace and prosperity for the sister country”.

Likewise, the Minister of Social Development, Victoria Tolosa Paz, celebrated that “the majority of the Brazilian people chose to return to the path of inclusion and equal opportunities”, and the head of the Environment and Sustainable Development portfolio, Juan Cabandié , affirmed that “the peoples of the great country do not forget the leaders who restored their dignity and happiness”.

And the Argentine ambassador to Brazil, Daniel Scioli, told Lula: “May God enlighten you to achieve all your dreams and goals for Brazil. You have generated great hope throughout Latin America and in Argentina, especially.”

For her part, the Legal and Technical Secretary of the Presidency, Vilma Ibarra, expressed that “the electoral result of Brazil is a beautiful hope for all of Latin America”, as did the president of the Banco de la Nación Argentina, Silvina Batakis, who assured that this victory “anticipates times of peace and democracy for Latin America”.

Batakis was present tonight in the official bunker of the PT, along with former Uruguayan President José Alberto “Pepe” Mujica, Minister Wado de Pedro and Ambassador Scioli.

The provincial governors also celebrated the victory, such as the president of the province of Buenos Aires, Axel Kicillof, who said that “justice was done” and celebrated: “Long live Lula! Long live Brazil!”

Along the same lines, the governor of Chaco, Jorge Capitanich, assured: “Today is a day of celebration for democracy in all of Latin America, the triumph of the Great Homeland and of a leader who works for social justice for all Brazilians!”

The governor of Tierra del Fuego, Gustavo Melella, affirmed that the Brazilian people “chose the path of democracy and rights, renewing hopes of building a Great Homeland”, and the president of La Rioja, Ricardo Quintela, supported “a model country of inclusion, social justice and union”.

The governor of Santa Cruz, Alicia Kirchner, greeted Lula for his victory “from the south of the continent” and renewed “the commitment to work for a sovereign Great Homeland united in solidarity and love.”

Meanwhile, the governor of San Juan, Sergio Uñac, expressed that “the Latin American brotherhood must deepen its commercial, productive, cultural and human bond” and the president of Catamarca, Raúl Jalil, affirmed that “this result renews the hopes of regional union and social justice”.

Likewise, the governor of Entre Ríos, Gustavo Bordet, stated that “a new time of work for prosperity, justice and democracy in Latin America opens after this historic election”, and the governor of Jujuy, Gerardo Morales, asked “build a stronger and more united region, that walks towards the development and progress of our peoples”.

The Argentine legislators also joined in greeting the new Brazilian president, such as the national senator (FdT) Anabel Fernández Sagasti, who assured that today “The joy is not only Brazilian. Latin America grows in democracy and with more rights for the majority. I celebrate the democratic process that took place at the polls in Brazil. The president of the Chamber of Deputies, Cecilia Moreau, shared a photo of “Avenida Paulista full of Latin American hope” and the national deputy (FdT) Leandro Santoro indicated through Twitter that “Lula wins and Latin America wins with him.”

The official account of the Justicialist Party greeted Lula “for the clear victory obtained in the 2022 Brazil Elections. This is great news not only for the Brazilian people, but for all of us who continue to dream of a united Latin America, in democracy and in peace,” they wrote on the social network.

In the same vein, the La Cámpora account congratulated “compañero” Lula and recalled: “Twenty years after winning his first presidency, he is facing the same challenge again. Lula strength, strength people of Brazil. love beat hate“.

Referents of Together for Change also sent their greetings to the leader of the PT, such as the national senator (UCR) Martín Lousteau who wished “the best for his management, with the hope that our countries find the path of dialogue and bilateral cooperation to face national, regional and global challenges”.

Along the same lines, Deputy Facundo Manes (UCR) assured that “the joint challenge is to achieve unity in the region to advance towards development.”

And the Radical Civic Union (UCR) issued a statement expressing “its approval of the great democratic day,” and recalled “the path of Latin American integration that presidents (Raúl) Alfonsín and (José) Sarney inaugurated by laying the foundations for the creation of Mercosur”.
