The Argentine Episcopal Conference (CEA) expressed this Wednesday through a letter its solidarity with the Major Archbishop of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church, Sviatoslav Shevchuk, and called for the end of a “cruel and unjust” war started after the invasion of Russia.
“We were able to inform ourselves with attention, pain and fraternal solidarity, about the drama that the people of Ukraine are experiencing. We want to express, Beatitude, our fraternal closeness, while we join the voices that demand the end of the war and the urgent search of peace”, indicates the letter signed by the bishop of San Isidro and president of the CEA, Oscar V. Ojea, and the auxiliary bishop of La Plata and general secretary of the CEA, Alberto G. Bochatey.
“In addition to assuring you of our prayers, we want to join in a concrete way, the aid campaign in the face of the humanitarian emergency that they live in Ukraine, due to the massacre of this cruel and unjust war,” adds the message sent to the Primate of the Greek Church- Ukrainian Catholic.
“United in the consecration to the Immaculate Heart of the Virgin Mary, Mother of God, Lady of Peace, we salute you Beatitude, with fraternal affection and renewed hope in the clemency and mercy of God,” the letter concludes.
