The Government and the ‘archist’ wing of the MAS shook the theory of the coup against Evo Morales in 2019. His lawyer, Martín Camacho, added that “it was possible to verify that when Morales realized that his monumental fraud of 2019 had failed, he decided to resign, but he is not brave enough to do so, and to victimize himself and create a situation of chaos and crisis in the country that allows him to flee and remain unpunished for the crime he committed, he demands that the COB ask for his resignation. Huarachi only obeyed the orders”.
The opposition leader, Carlos Mesa, commented that “Morales forced the line of succession to resign, and his parliamentarians and supporters to request their own resignation to invent a fake coup. The evidence of this sinister self-coup is also proof to stop the vile political persecution.”
Deputy José Carlos Gutiérrez, from Creemos, demanded that the Prosecutor’s Office summon Huarachi as a key witness in the coup case, taking into account that two MAS legislators revealed that Evo instructed the COB and the Unity Pact to request his resignation and thus create chaos and then show himself as the only option.
