The MX Expansion League came to an end on December 18, with the Atlante of a silver category that enshrined one of the best league editions, managing to make history since the birth of the Expansión League.
The Apertura 2021 has developed great young talents that have created a great show in this tournament. This league competition is the one that has registered the most goals in the locker, adding a number of 361 goals between the regular phase and the final phase. The 2021 Apertura has surpassed the 343 goals that were scored in the 2020 Guard1anes and left behind the 315 of the 2021 Guard1anes.
This result leaves a goal average of 2.4 goals per game. For this reason, it becomes the men’s league in Mexico with the highest number of goals every 90 minutes. The Expansion League awaits the best young people who will soon make the leap to the highest category. These youngsters are preparing for a high level of competition in the silver category. This season has left a total of 57 debuts by young Mexican soccer players, a number that exceeds the previous semester with 20 more participations. Although, it has not been the best tournament in terms of number of debuts: the Apertura 2021 takes second place in the tournament with the most premieres.
Among the young people, the top scorer stands out, Martin Barragan, player of the Athletic Morelia that added 8 points to the next Pablo Yrizar who militates with Golden and has scored six goals just like Eduardo Perez found in the ranks of Crab Brava.
The results speak for themselves. This edition of Liga de Expansión MX has been one of the most productive and fruitful for youth and Mexican soccer itself. In Mexico there is football for a while and promises to have future stars at the top of the beautiful game.
