The Anti-Globalist Club: Towards the metaverse, towards the universal electronic dictatorship

“The law is one of the sources of interference in people’s freedom.”

Rubens RR Casara (Post-democratic State, neoliberalism and management of the undesirables)

Globalism is a term used to describe the order that accompanies the world since World War II, characterized by the Yalta Conference and the derivation of a world system of capitalism that is made up of financial, political, economic and social organizations, as well as by treaties that legitimize the bourgeois liberal vision of politics. Since the 1980s, the globalist agenda was linked to the neoliberal experiment of Margaret Thatcher in England and Ronald Reagan in the United States, and from 1991 it became internationalized as the “end of history” and the “only possible vision” of politics. .

However, long before, as the political scientists Michael Hartd and Toni Negri assure, a decentralized entity, the Empire, has been forming, which has its roots in big capital and the global commands that apply politics and move to the rhythm of the flow of money. The financialisation of decision-making has a touch piece from the imposition of a post-industrial, post-modern, irrationalist and post-democratic corporatism whose end will no longer be freedom in terms of classical liberalism, but a new order of control of masses. Since the 60s and 70s of the 20th century, numerous experiments were devoted to this end, among them the MK ULTRA of the CIA, a kind of school in which all possible ways were tried to hack the human mind and take it to submission.

The spark of thought has been and is the main enemy of governments, corporations and the powerful. It is the only terrain in which there is somehow the freedom to question, to rebel. And therein lies the main danger that any order must face. Social networks, with their logic of surveillance and control, are the highest point reached by the Empire’s aspiration to establish global commands that dominate politics to the point of making laws unnecessary.

In the most recent revelations about the interiors of Facebook, not only the damage to children and adolescents transcended, but the fact that the platform is itself already a transnational state that encompasses the entirety of a globalist power, with its own currency and with very particular and anti-democratic norms. The networks have broken the old pact and question the States, their actions being a determining element in the rise of political powers or the destruction of certain enemy agendas of the Pentagon. And it is not by chance that the pages that this network censor points directly against the interests of the North American Deep State. Facebook does not denounce or condemn hate speech, but what hates them. Along these lines, in 2017, Mark Zuckerberg himself would have devised maneuvering between Democrats and Republicans to seize the presidential power of the United States, perhaps with the consent of the political class and the financial business sector that raises it in these operations and that it have as a visible face.

As has been well said, the Empire, as a decentralized entity, has contradictions and Zuckerberg had to appear in public after the revelations of a former employee, but that does not mean that the company is going to close. The woman herself declared that she herself believed in Facebook and its capacity for reform, which is why we see how a gap is opened to the social network from which it continues to exist as a functional piece to the global and geopolitical interests of the board.

In fact, Facebook integrates, together with other Anglo-Saxon technology giants, a consortium endorsed by NATO, which has the ability to ban, to obscure in search engines, those portals that contradict the official versions of the Empire. In this way, advances of modernity such as freedom of expression – present in the First Amendment of the North American Constitution – are eliminated from the political praxis, which constitutes an arbitrary procedure of flexibilization of the law and therefore one more element that demonstrates the post-democratic character of this emerging order. With the unrestricted power that corporatism has, it is expected that the States will be replaced and a new system is created, perhaps based on the possession of data, which would change not only politics but even the configuration of human life as today it exists. The Covid 19 pandemic, in fact, contributes to this phenomenon, as it has further financialized the economy, making all products more expensive, giving way to stock market speculation and increasing dependence on virtual platforms. If a fairly elementary logic is followed, it can be said that the virus was a catalyst that allowed globalists to make in a year and something all the changes that their companies require within the market and that would have taken decades due to the resistance of politics and of the people.

The economic order not only destroys planetary ecology, it smashes politics and eliminates rights. One can no longer speak of a system of freedoms, but of an oligopolistic business community whose monopoly control overrides any power that the multitudes may wield. The state that Facebook is already serves as a privileged position to shape the new order of the future, based on the elimination of politics and the emergence of new legal environments.

The Metaverse

Zuckerberg’s new proposal is to create an alternate, parallel world, in which exactly the same is done as in this one, but under different rules: those of Facebook. Literally a real life is going to be substituted for a virtual one. It is the first step for what transhumanist ideologues call post-human life, that is, to exist eternally in a digital universe, where everything moves thanks to algorithms. Although this project is still beginning, large companies have had it in mind for years. Google, for example, has its own version of metaverse and in the future all these corporations will integrate the same platform. In such a way, without it being a delusion or science fiction, this reality of flesh and blood will cease to be important. In the post-democratic and arbitrary proposal of Facebook and its system of censorship and blockades, we can already intuit what this new electronic world would be like in which we are invited to live as a civilization.

And there is something that we have not understood: the nature of capital is exactly this: expand and control. It did so when the invention of the printing press and the establishment of a modern rule of law and the same is true today with social media. It is not just about technologies and companies, but about a civilizational change, in which teleworking, robotics and the convergence between various machines and artificial intelligences make it necessary to reconfigure the market. Stakeholder capitalism, driven by the United Nations 20/30 agenda and by the Davos World Economic Forum, tends to a global financial order where computerization and automation of life predominate. In this change, transhumans and post-humans are necessary, whose bodies, abilities and lives revolve around the system of production and reproduction of current capital.

Such is the background to the launch of Meta, the variant of Facebook promoted by Zuckerberg after the scandal that exposed the excesses of his company: more control, greater dependence on people and therefore the beginning of a way of doing politics in which the humanity will undergo transformations in its own nature. The process is neither good nor bad in itself, although it moves according to the interests of an elite interested in maximizing its profit.

What will happen to the old politics?

The parties are no longer important as a way of bringing people together and exercising social hegemony, in fact it can be said that they are in crisis. The contradictions are being resolved in the networks based on who has the power over the corporations and who makes themselves heard louder. Traditional politics will not be able to with that and it only remains to adapt, try to survive and change its form. Figures like Trump himself were relegated at the time through the commands of social networks, which is already an indicator of how the world will be after the new order that lies ahead in the coming years. The maxim is: either you adapt or you disappear.

For now the mainstay of all this is Facebook, but with the start of the Metaverse we can expect many surprises. One thing is quite certain: there is no going back, the old world as it was known before the pandemic will not return. In that sense, the network commands also send us a clear and incontestable message.
