A plan to promote anti-corruption values from childhood
Prior to being interviewed, Secretary Buenrostro led the launch of the Seedbeds of Honesty program. This is an initiative to foster values of empathy, respect, responsibility and cooperation from childhood, as well as attitudes of rejection of corruption.
With this strategy, booklets on these topics will be distributed to all students during the six-year term. They are additional materials to the textbooks that also have a digital version.
The program, created in conjunction with the Ministry of Public Education (SEP), starts in preschool schools and will gradually reach primary schools. Work is also carried out in secondary, secondary and upper secondary schools with rallies anti-corruption, explained Secretary Buenrostro.
“Corruption is a cancer that erodes trust in institutions, perpetuates inequality and destroys hope in a better future. Therefore, the best way to combat it is to educate in honesty from childhood,” he declared.
