The National Ports Administration (ANP) and the Municipality of Colonia will present a traveling exhibition that shows the work of the ports of Uruguay. The public will be able to access the history of the ANP and information on maritime discoveries or actions such as Uruguay’s support for the Greg Mortimer cruise ship during the COVID-19 pandemic. The exhibition will be open from September at the Colonia Passenger Terminal.
With this initiative, which will be inaugurated this Thursday, September 1, at 11 a.m., the agency tries to make the public know the respective terminals and their impact on the environment in ports or nearby cities.
The authorities consider that it is a way to encourage interest in the work of the entity, its management, testimonial elements and graphics, and to promote maritime culture.
The exhibition, which will be in the departure lounge of the Colonia Terminal, will exhibit a series of explanatory panels with topics such as: history of ANP and the ports of Colonia, marinas under the administration of the agency, historical finds in the port Montevideo, infrastructure works, cranes, and Uruguay’s support for the Greg Mortimer cruise ship during the COVID-19 pandemic. Likewise, it will include technical plans, photographs of the execution of the works and their completion, as well as relevant data to understand the magnitude of each action and its repercussion on the operation.
In addition to port facilities and local centers, the traveling exhibition will visit universities and schools, libraries, promotional events and tourist offices.
