The National Administration of Drugs, Food and Medical Technology (ANMAT) through its official bulletin, prohibited “the preparation, fractionation and marketing” of a nutritional supplement.
As he referred the organismthe products of the Prodenza Life brand: Maca Negra Nutritional Supplement and Maca Force, of Peruvian origin, may not be marketed through digital channels either, as reported by the ANMAT.
The measure announced by the ANMAT It was taken after conducting an investigation into a complaint by an individual about the Prodenza Life brand products Nutritional Supplement Maca Negra and Maca Force.
“Prohibit the production, fractionation and marketing throughout the national territory and on online sales platforms of Prodenza Life brand products: Maca Negra Nutritional Supplement and Maca Force,” they indicated.
The investigation determined that the product of Peruvian origin lacked sanitary registration, “turning out to be products falsely labeled and consequently illegal“.
Likewise, the supplement prepared and distributed by Laboratorios Agroindustrias Amazonas SAC, contained an ingredient not allowed for dietary supplements, as established by the Argentine Food Code.
What contained the product prohibited by the ANMAT
According to the marketer’s description, Black Maca and Maca Force supplement, they were made with a tuber native to the mountains of Peruwith high concentrations of vitamins and minerals that lack records in the country.
The product was also offered as an energy booster, and “stimulant of the reproductive system”, and according to the description, it could be consumed by children and adults.
The 90-capsule supplement was sold through digital platforms, mainly dietetics, from approximately 650 pesos.
However, as it does not have current health records and contains an ingredient that is not suitable for this type of product, the organism made the determination to prohibit its sale and manufacture throughout the national territory.
