The Alto Paraíso Gastronomy Festival begins today (3), with the participation of restaurants, bakeries, bistros and cafes from the Chapada dos Veadeiros region. The establishments will prepare dishes with Cerrado ingredients for the event, which aims to involve the entire regional gastronomy chain – from small producers to award-winning restaurants.
Culinary is part of the itinerary of tourists who come from all over the country to discover the region’s natural attractions, which include several waterfalls. Until the 12th of December, when the anniversary of the municipality of Alto Paraíso de Goiás is also celebrated, tourists will be able to taste the dishes specially prepared by the chefs of the establishments.
During the festival period, participating inns offer discounts to guests who inform, at the time of booking, that they will go to the Gastronomic Festival. For more information about the event Click here??
In total, there are almost 30 participating establishments in Alto Paraíso de Goiás, Vila de São Jorge and the Moinho neighborhood, offering an exclusive menu developed with fruits, oils, seeds, edible flowers and other regional ingredients.
“Festival Gastrô is a great business opportunity with a unique gastronomy that only exists here in the Cerrado and with a lot of hospitality for those who arrive”, says chef Isaac Macena, from the restaurant L’Alcofa.
Establishments include restaurants, bistros, inns, bars, snack bars, bakeries, artisan food producers and other food and beverage producers. The Alto Paraíso Gastrô Festival is organized by the municipality’s Department of Tourism and Economic Development with the Association of Commerce and Industry (ACIAP).
“It is a festival to integrate producers, entrepreneurs, tourists and residents of Chapada”, highlights the Municipal Secretary of Tourism and Economic Development of Alto Paraíso de Goiás, Melissa Viana. For her, as well as the sights and history of the city, the cuisine and typical dishes are also part of the local culture.
“The public will have a complete experience, which goes far beyond eating. It is an immersion in the history of products, food and local culture as a whole.”
Businessman Marco Antonio Pereira, who is president of the Commercial and Industrial Association of Alto Paraíso, highlights the objective of the Gastronomic Festival to strengthen gastronomy, tourism and regional culture.
“We want to show that this region, already highlighted in national and international tourism for being a place of many natural beauties, is also a gastronomic power supported by an entire production chain that involves from the small producer who sells his product at the fair to haute cuisine. ”
For chef Lui Verones, from Cozinha do Cavaleiro, the Cerrado will be the main focus of the event: “Valuing the ingredients and natural products of the cerrado is a professional conduct of mine that I seek to make evident in my actions inside and outside Cozinha do Cavaleiro. Festival Gastrô, with the obligation to use products from the Cerrado, makes our biome the great star of this show of delicacies that we are about to extol. Long live the cerrado!”
