Santo Domingo;- The National Police reported this Tuesday on the capture of Edwin Andrés Gerónimo Mejía, nicknamed “Espaillat”, who is the main suspect of having brutally murdered Luisa Betances Fabián, 56, in a hotel in the Colonial Zone.
According to investigations, the femicide occurred last Sunday in a hotel room, where Betances Fabián received a violent beating that cost him his life.
Employees of the establishment found the victim and rushed him to the Darío Contreras Hospital, where he died early Monday morning.
After committing the crime, Gerónimo Mejía fled the scene, but was arrested on Avenida Canadá when he was heading to the province of San José de Ocoa.
Police are still investigating the details and motive behind this brutal murder.
