In the midst of the strong agricultural emergency that hundreds of producers from all over the country are experiencing, the agrarian federation demanded this Thursday from the Government the urgency to establish measures to address this situation.
From Rosario, the board of directors of the agrarian federation He spoke of the need to make decisions to cope with the agricultural emergency. In this sense, the entity He also called for “clear rules” in the face of the uncertainty that exists for the production of the coming months.
Besides, the agrarian federation He insisted on the need to “apply active public policies that reverse the state of suffocation of small and medium-sized producers in the face of the profound advance of economic concentration that continues to worry us.”
Likewise, the producers insisted on the importance of the measures to be implemented are up to the task in the face of production losses of crops as a result of the drought and the death blow of the late frosts”.
The Federation He also points out that this situation has affected “regional economies, decimating their production and generating predictably meager yields in wheat, corn and soybeans, with livestock and dairy that are perceived to be seriously affected.”
In this sense, they maintain that “the funds are insufficient in the face of so many problems”, for this reason they request that “appropriate and accessible tools” be sought and implemented, otherwise the work of the producers will continue to be at risk.
For this reason, they questioned the Government, since “it tries to calm the problems with patches without attacking the fundamental solutions”, and they stressed that “it seems that they do not understand what the agricultural producer is experiencing today.”
Taxes, the other evil of producers
Since the entity They remarked that, added to the climate emergency, the tax burden they currently have only leads to economic losses. “We have a tax burden with taxes that are distorting, regressive, such as export duties, gross income, advance earnings. We reiterate once again that, in the face of this climate emergency, these advances are eliminated which, moreover, are about a gain that, far from it, is forecast as a great ‘loss’”.
And they add that for this reason they request that “special debt regulation plans be implemented” and that “the State urges greater speed so that we can have predictability to produce in a country that needs us.”
