The Federal Administration of Public Revenues (AFIP) and the General Inspectorate of Justice (IGJ) signed an agreement that establishes the simplification of administrative procedures that must be carried out by civil associations and neighborhood clubs of the Autonomous City of Buenos Airesto meet your tax obligations.
The head of the AFIP, Carlos Castagneto; the head of the IGJ, Ricardo Nissen; the undersecretary of Registry Affairs of the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights of the Nation, Víctor Malavolta, and the Ombudsman of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, María Rosa Muiños, informed the AFIP in a statement.
“The intention of this Federal Administration is that the bodies that regulate civil associations in each province adhere to this measure, producing a positive impact on all civil associations that do not have the necessary economic resources to cover professional assistance expenses in legal and accounting matters”Castagneto pointed out.
They estimate from the collecting agency that the measure will have an impact on 700 civil associations that are within the regulated parameters, and that have a registered office in the City of Buenos Aires.
The agreement establishes a streamlining of the procedures that the different associations must carry out to comply with the presentation of the financial statements, and includes non-profit entities with certain levels of economic activity defined by the jurisdictional control authority.
It will be in force as of January 2, 2023, and will be applicable for years beginning on or after January 1, 2022.
“The agreement does not exempt these entities from the obligation to manage their tax exemption certificates before the AFIP”says the AFIP statement, and recalled that “currently civil associations are exempt from the payment of Profits and do not suffer withholdings or VAT perceptions.”
Lastly, the federal administrator celebrated the importance of the agreement signed and highlighted “the effort made every day by neighborhood clubs, NGOs and civil associations that fulfill a very important social task throughout Argentina”, while affirming the role of the AFIP as an organism “Open doors, in pursuit of installing rights and accompanying the sectors that need it most.”
