The 52nd session of the OAS General Assembly closes with a ceremony in Lima

This Friday, October 7, the closing ceremony of the 52nd session of the General Assembly of the Organization of American States (), which took place in Lima.

The ceremony was led by the Secretary General of the OAS, Louis Almagroand the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Peru, Cesar Landawho said he was satisfied with the results and the commitment of all the participants in this meeting.

Landa Arroyo stressed that the work and results of the general assembly allow them to be optimistic and that the approval of the Lima declarations on these matters constitutes a “important step” on this goal.

The General Assembly also approved by acclamation the resolution, promoted by Guatemala, which highlights the commitment of the Government of Peru and the work of the Foreign Minister Cesar Landa in the organization of this international event.

Prior to the closing, the fourth plenary session was held, where issues related to the Falkland Islandsthe election of authorities of organs, agencies and entities of the OAS, among others.

In addition, the presentation of the report of the General Committee was made, in addition to the approval of draft declarations and resolutions.
