In the Quibayo sector, located in the Sorte mountain, Yaracuy state, the Third National Pluricultural, Multiethnic and Ancestral Meeting for Peace and Sovereignty was held, an event that brought together representatives of various indigenous peoples of the country and with the participation of international guests.
In a live broadcast on VTV, the Minister for Indigenous Peoples, Clara Vidal, highlighted the importance of this space as a platform to make visible the cultural wealth of indigenous communities. “We are here so that you can witness what we are, what we are made of, and what our vision is, the vision from a cultural point of view,” he stated.
Vidal also reported that during the meeting a manifesto for peace and national sovereignty was presented, to reaffirm the commitment of indigenous peoples to the defense of their rights and the unity of the country.
This event is part of the activities prior to the Day of Indigenous Resistance, which will be celebrated this October 12 with a great march in honor of peace, sovereignty, multiculturalism and the conquests achieved since the arrival of the Bolivarian Revolution, led by the supreme and eternal Commander Hugo Chávez.
