The case of the death of Mauricio Leal and his mother Marleny Hernández has behind bars John Lealwho was sentenced to 55 years in prison for the incident that occurred in the famous stylist’s apartment, located in La Calera, near Bogotá.
In the last few hours, a revealing video came to light showing the last moments of life of ‘Maito’ Leal, as he was affectionately known in the world of styling by his clientele, the vast majority of whom were entertainment personalities.
The chilling images released by Noticias Caracol show the hairdresser dying next to his mother’s body and showing the wounds he suffered in his chest and abdomen with a kitchen knife, as determined by the Prosecutor’s Office, but which cannot be seen in the video.
Mauricio Leal claims that he self-harmed and that he “couldn’t take it anymore,” a confession that has raised many doubts and has led some to take on the role of criminal investigator, dissecting the smallest details observed in the recording that lasts just over 21 seconds.

Three disturbing details in Mauricio Leal’s video
A user of the X platform raised three questions about the video that is considered “lost evidence by the Prosecutor’s Office” in the judicial process, since it was never seen during Jhonier Leal’s trial.
Whose voice is that that we hear saying “the sheet”? Why, if the victim recorded herself, is her gaze focused in another direction? The discrepancy between the hand she “recorded” with and the knife in the same hand in the final scene are the 3 disturbing details that draw attention.
