“The package does allocate certain resources to social programs (…) What was planned to be allocated this year has already been allocated and therefore those are the beneficiaries that we were able to support. It is a rather expensive program, because it helps many women, but we should be able to help everyone,” she told Expansión exclusively.
The head of the Edomex Welfare Secretariat, Juan Carlos González Romero, had already announced that his administration will focus on serving the nearly 650,000 beneficiaries who have already registered.
Regarding whether resources will be increased for next year, the official said in an interview that nothing has been defined yet, since they are just finishing the proposal for what the 2025 Expenditure Budget will be.
Recently, the Governor of the State of Mexico, Delfina Gómez, presented her State Development Plan and instructed the Finance Secretariat to propose a budget aligned with the objectives and actions of said plan.
According to Paulina Moreno, this budget will continue with a slimming down of administrative and expenditure structures, in order to focus resources on security, education and health.
In terms of spending to strengthen priority groups, she noted that more than 15 billion pesos were allocated to social programs in 2024 alone. Of this total, more than 6.5 billion were allocated to the Mujeres con Bienestar program this year.
