Rest days SEP calendar 2024-2025
The official SEP calendar indicates that there are nine days of suspension of teaching activities since they correspond to holidays in Mexico. This is the list:
- September 16, 2024 – Commemoration of Mexican Independence Day.
- November 18, 2024 – Commemoration of the beginning of the Mexican Revolution. According to the LFT, the rest of the year applies on the third Monday of the eleventh for its celebration, instead of the 20th.
- December 25, 2024 – Christmas.
- January 1, 2025 – New Year.
- February 3, 2025 – Commemoration of the anniversary of the promulgation of the 1917 Constitution, which corresponds to the first month of February.
- March 17, 2025 – Commemoration of Benito Juárez, moved to Monday.
- May 1, 2025 – Labor Day.
- May 5, 2025 – Battle of Puebla Day / May 10th Tour.
- May 15, 2025 – Teachers’ Day.
Vacation
Elementary school students will have two vacation periods in the 2024-2025 cycle, which correspond to the end-of-year and Easter holidays. These are the dates:
First holiday period: From Thursday, December 19, 2024 to January 3, 2025. Return to school on Monday, January 6.
Second holiday period: Monday 14th to Friday 25th April. Return to classes on Monday 28th.
Technical Council Days
Eight Technical Council meetings are scheduled, in which preschool, primary and secondary school teachers will address the problems, academic achievements and pedagogical needs of students. These are the dates.

How many bridges will there be?
Students will have some long weekends or long weekends due to the fact that the Technical Council days coincide with holidays. In this case, there will be only one, which will be from Friday, January 31 to Monday, February 3.
