The lawyer Neftalí Jaén was on the Panamá Hoy news program on Radio Panamá where he addressed different issues of national interest such as recent cases where people record without providing help to citizens who suffer an accident or in fights and also referred to the issue of the agreement between the Government National and Mining Panama.
Regarding what was reached in the agreement that was reached with the Minera Panama contract, Jaén considers that they are not telling the whole truth to the country «That is pure story, it is pure show, there is no white smoke, what they have said is no longer You are advertising me saying that I did not want to sign and you did not want to sign either, we are going to do it based on what had been announced 15 months ago, the famous 357 million dollars that do not tell you if they are retroactive ».
Given the recent cases of people who are dedicated to recording cases of accidents or fights without providing help, Jaén expressed that there is Law 57 that provides legal protection to people who provide help in emergency situations: “No one wants to be involved in a situation in where you for helping a person who is trapped in a vehicle or separating a fight then have legal consequences for the action that you exercised in providing help, but it seems to me that there is a failure on the part of the authorities because there is a law but there is no teaching so that people could know that if you provide help or help, you will be exempt from civil and criminal liability, because you as a person as a human being helped another person»
