Tertiary Education Fair will be tomorrow at Utec
All institutions that have higher level courses in the region will be present in a new edition of the Tertiary Education Fair.
At the Melo headquarters of the Technological University, tomorrow, Wednesday, September 17, between 9 p.m. and 5 p.m., there will be stands and exhibitions on the educational offer next year.
“In this particular case, we are focusing on the teaching of tertiary education at the level of the department of Cerro Largo, but also of the region” He began by saying Licensed Mauricio de Souza.
When mentioning the region, it is not only the courses dictated in neighboring departments, but also beyond the limits of Uruguay. “For example, Brazilian universities have participated as in the case of Unipampa Campus Yaguarón, Unipampa Campus Bagé, the Federal Institute of the South (IFSUL) that is also present in Yaguarón” highlighted.
“We will also receive the House of the University of Thirty -Three, to the University Center of Tacuarembó and the University Center of Rivera, but with the focus that we are present today in the department of Cerro Largo with the House of the University, with the Technological University, the Institute of Teacher Training, the Agrarian School, the Higher Technical School and the Institute of High Specialization” detailed.
“Sometimes in the tours that we do inside we detect that families and chiquilines themselves do not know about the proposals that today exist here in Melo, that happens to us with the house of the University of Cerro Largo” The director of the CuCEL remarked.
The Tertiary Education Fair is organized by the Departmental Education Commission with the support of the Intendencia and the Departmental Board of Cerro Largo. “Inside it is fundamental and if you want even the support between the different institutions and with the departmental government” highlighted.
“The activity will be carried out this Wednesday, September 17 at the UTEC headquarters between 9 and 17,” Mauricio de Souza confirmed at a press conference. “It is an activity open to all audiences” reported.
“The representatives of all the institutions will be present here to answer all the questions” held. “The fundamental thing here is to bring information to the population and, in addition, also of the other teaching proposals that exist in our departments” said the director of the University’s house.
An information space for students
The interim mayor of Cerro Largo congratulated the Cerro Largo Education Commission for the work that has been developing since 2022.
“This fair is really important for those young people who know what they are going to do, where they will go to study, what they like” expressed the Dr. Pablo Duarte.
“Today we see that the Gurises are much more lost than in our time, perhaps because of the diversity in the educational offer or because the times are others” He added.
“The important thing is that the commission bet on this activity again and the students of the Middle School of Cerro Largo have the possibility of coming, consulting and informing and then evaluating what they will do” He said later the communal chief.
“There are other ways, but they are generally very expensive, and it is going to the places by the family or the student itself. That is more complex, we can do it at a fair here in the department is really very good” Dr. Pablo Duarte recognized.
Take advantage of the local tertiary offer
The director of the Intendencia Education area highlighted the possibilities offered by young border region. “There are very close training opportunities, for example, in Ifsul Yaguarón where Uruguayans have 16 places in each of the careers” revealed.
“Those places are generally not filled. Today we have a bus frequency that returns very late from Rio Branco, at 23.30, which opens the possibility that Melo students can make those careers” The Teacher Lucy Larrosa.
“There are also issues related to scholarships such as those of the solidarity fund and even access to student homes, which is why it is very important that not only students come but also parents to inform themselves.” considered.
“Today there are more opportunities than at our time, but even those opportunities must be opened. To the extent that there is no local demand, to the extent that there is no use of local offers, those opportunities also disappear” He warned. “That is why it depends on us as a community to sustain these spaces and make them grow” He ended up saying Lucy Larrosa.
