The president of the bloc of senators of the Frente de Todos (FdT) of the province of Buenos Aires, María Teresa García, asked that the political table of the ruling party convened by President Alberto Fernández discuss “lawfare and the mafias” that threaten Vice President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner.
“The announcement (to convene this area for next February 16) satisfies us all, especially our space within the FdT, which is the one that has been demanding the assembly of a political table,” García said in statements to FM Futuröck.
And he added that in the province of Buenos Aires, “this instance was formed after the quarantine with Axel Kicillof, Máximo Kirchner, Sergio Massa, Martín Insaurralde and mayors. Territorial political management and armed policies were evaluated.”
He pointed out that “this table has to have a starting point in two aspects: regarding the ruling that seeks to disqualify Cristina Kirchner and the progress or not of the investigation into the assassination attempt.”.
In this way, García referred to the sentence of six years in prison and disqualification for life from holding public office that the former president received in the trial of the Road case.
“It is unfeasible to think of a political-electoral strategy without it being clear what is the situation of the leader with the most support according to all the surveys who, in addition, is disabled by decision of a Justice and who had a bullet in September that did not go out to 10 cm from his head,” he stressed.
For García, “Cristina is the most precious leader in the country that the FdT hasand although she agreed with “discussing the electoral instruments”, the provincial senator He also asked to discuss at the political table of the FDT “the conflict with the Court, the situation of the Judicial Council and the attitude of the opposition have paralyzed Congress”.
In addition, García also asked to put into debate “issues that have to do with people’s pockets” such as “the pension law, which the opposition prevents from dealing with; inflation; the relationship with the IMF and income distribution.”
“A political table does not only have to do with the distribution of the lists for the different sectors. What can society think in any country in the world if a Vice President had had a 10-centimeter bullet that did not come out, and her political force considered offering herself to the community again as an alternative for the election year, with that unresolved? There are no answers,” he said.
The provincial senator considered that “the entire political force of the FdT and the Executive Power should have been put to strengthen the investigation” into the attack on the Vice President, and added that, however, “everything is half done.”
“The investigation must be deepened. There cannot be an attack on the Vice President without clarifying. That speaks of the weakness of the democratic system. It’s very clear where the power is in what we saw at Lago Escondido. The collusion of the federal Justice, with intelligence services, government officials of Horacio Rodríguez Larreta and the right hand of (Horacio) Rosatti (Silvio Robles). It’s a scandal. It’s lawfare and mafia. These things must be discussed at the political table, “he stressed.
Palazzo considered that “we must discuss how to solve people’s problems”
The Secretary General of the Banking Association and national deputy for the Frente de Todos (FdT), Sergio Palazzo, considered it more important to discuss “how to solve the problems of Argentines and comply with the 2019 electoral contract” than “to discuss who will be the candidate of the coalition for the presidential elections”.
“More than discussing who the candidate is and how we are going to go to the PASO amicably, what we have to see is the way to solve the problems of the Argentines to comply with the electoral contract,” Palazzo said in statements to El Destape Radio.
Fernández made the call last Monday for Thursday, February 16 to the FdT political table in order to begin designing the party strategy for the next elections.
The call was issued by the Deputy Chief of Staff and representative of the PJ, Juan Manuel Olmos, who informed that the meeting will take place at 7:00 p.m. at the party headquarters at Matheu 130 in the City of Buenos Aires.
“We would have to be more dedicated to accompanying the citizens who lost against inflation. Today there are many registered workers who are poor in Argentina,” said the Banking unionist.
On the other hand, Palazzo referred to the judicial proscription against Vice President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner and indicated that “when a leader generates an agenda and has courage, those are the persecutions she suffers.”
“What the power needs is to eliminate it, that’s why the ban,” Palazzo said about the sentence of six years in prison and disqualification for life from holding public office that the Vice President received in the trial of the Road case.
Finally, the legislator assured that they have asked bank businessmen to “take charge of part of the income tax paid by bank workers.”
“Before the end of February, there will be some measure of force if there is no response from the employers,” he concluded.
