The Electoral Tribunal of the Judicial Branch of the Federation (TEPJF) rejected one of the two challenges presented by the former Morena, PT and PVEM candidate for the government of Jalisco, Claudia Delgadillo, so the victory of the MC member Pablo Lemus remains firm as governor-elect.

However, there is another case that has not been discussed in the plenary session of the higher court, so Delgadillo lost a battle but the final resolution of the jurisdictional electoral authority is still pending.

In yesterday’s session, the TEPJF ruled that Delgadillo’s challenge was inadmissible, considering that the arguments he presented had no basis to invalidate the victory of the then candidate of Movimiento Ciudadano (MC).

The lawsuit filed by the former candidate of Sigamos Haciendo Historia points out that the Electoral Court of Jalisco failed to resolve various complaints related to violations of constitutional principles and values, which had repercussions on the validity of the election.

However, this argument presented through a citizen trial was found to be inadmissible by the TEPJF.

However, the challenge filed by Delgadillo against the ruling of the Jalisco Court in which it declared Pablo Lemus the winner is still pending, by confirming the state count and the qualification of the election for governor, declaring the eligibility of the elected candidate.

The pending matter is against the qualification of victory and the issuance of the certificate of majority of Pablo Lemus Navarro, but the higher chamber still has time to review this case, since the swearing-in is not until next December 6.

In another matter, the plenary unanimously confirmed the resolution of the Electoral Court of Guanajuato that endorsed the declaration of validity of the elections and the granting of the certificate of majority to the candidacy for governor by the Fuerza y Corazón por Guanajuato coalition, issued by the General Council of the local Electoral Institute.

Morena challenged the resolution, considering that the local electoral court violated fundamental rights, principles of legality and access to justice, derived from an improper assessment probationary and an erroneous analysis of the alleged facts. However, the higher court determined that the court had properly assessed the evidence.

Sheinbaum violated equity in Times Square

President-elect Claudia Sheinbaum and Emilio Ulloa Pérez, former Secretary of Urban Development and Housing of Mexico City, violated electoral law by broadcasting images on a screen in Times Square in New York, the specialized chamber of the TEPJF determined.

Although they did not carry out any advance campaigning or personalized promotion, the plenary session resolved that they violated the principles of impartiality, neutrality and equity.
