The specialized regional chamber of the Electoral Tribunal of the Judicial Branch of the Federation (TEPJF) fined Xóchitl Gálvez 108,570 pesos for various violations of the rules of electoral propaganda.
In one case it was for committing slander against Claudia Sheinbaum by calling her narco candidate
in the second presidential debate, which resulted in a fine equivalent to more than 65 thousand pesos.
Meanwhile, the PAN, PRD and PRI parties will receive a fine equivalent to more than 20 thousand pesos each for not taking care of their candidate’s expressions.
In another matter, the specialized regional chamber ruled that the former candidate of the Fuerza y Corazón por México coalition must pay a fine of 32,571 pesos for using the logo of the National Electoral Institute, while the three parties of this alliance were sanctioned with 10,857 pesos each for failure to comply with their duty of care.
