What did Dina Boluarte say about Bolivia?
The president’s message was not only controversial for attacking those who oppose his government, but also described Bolivia as a “failed country”, causing the president’s rejection Luis Arce and generating tension between both leaders.
“The country would be in an unwanted power of power with serious consequences […] Way to become a Falling countrysuch as Cuba, Bolivia and Venezuela, ”said Boluarte in a way of defending his decision to assume power, after the coup attempt by former president Pedro Castillo.
Bolivia Foreign Ministry rejects statements by Boluarte
In conference, the Bolivian Vice Chancellor, Elmer Catarina, said that Dina Boluarte’s statements are serious, taking into account the context of regional cooperation that both nations have sustained and entrenched in recent years.
“We are two sister countries that we have been maintaining a fruitful dialogue. We have built a highly positive technical agenda in the economic-commercial, on limits and borders, international waters and even shared Lake Titicaca,” said the Vice Chancellor.
On the other hand, Catarina confirmed that despite the voltage caused by the message of the president, they will maintain the bilateral agenda, especially economic and commercial. However, he made it clear that they expect an answer from Peru: “We expect any signal from the diplomatic or governmental authorities about this impasse. Rejection has already been formally communicated.”
