A total of 10 people have died this year due to influenza, reported the general director of health Melva Cruz.
He explained that 3 of the deaths are minors, and that of the total number of deaths, 8 of them did not have the vaccine, in addition to being part of the vulnerable population and 2 of them are under investigation.
He explained that the entire population should be vaccinated, but there are people who should be a priority, since they are more prone to getting this virus; under 5 years of age, over 65 years of age, people with comorbidities, arterial and cardiovascular hypertension, diabetes, obesity and immunosuppressed.
The Ministry of Health highlighted that there are more than 300,000 vaccines available for people who wish to go to health centers, polyclinics, sub-centers and other health facilities to get a dose against influenza.
