Last May, the Government of Spain eliminated the restriction that had been imposed, due to COVID-19, to residents of Cuba who wished to apply for tourist visas to travel to this European country.
The entity specified that the appointments for Schengen visa, short stay or airport transit, were opened every day, but that there was a high demand.
A few days after the opening, Cubans complained about the impossibility of accessing appointments, despite spending hours trying.
“How can they be exhausted? With the page down since they were on August 18. What happened to the rest of the dates? Can you explain it to me?” questions the user Juan Juárez after the rapid suspension of the granting of appointments.
While Yaneilis Soler explains that “she has not slept for three months, entering (the system) at all hours”, even at 2:00 in the morning.
While María Elena hopes “that for the new date they make some change in the appointment system to facilitate this process and not have to resort to illegal procedures.”
