“This initiative is the result of a collective construction that makes us really very proud”, Llorente said. And he assured that these advances “speak a lot about the agency that we want, that we are building together, and above all about how we can reconvert ourselves in the best way in line with the transformation of the media paradigm.”

In this sense, the authorities maintained that the new recording studio is designed as “a creative space”, which opens the possibility of new ways of communicating “from new technologies, from broad agendas and trying to reach all audiences”.

For a better use of the room, which will begin to operate fully from next October, the workers of the public agency will receive training with the purpose of “accessing the knowledge of the possibilities that this space gives us that can facilitate our work and also speed up our minds”, anticipated Llorente.

A documentary about the press in times of war

As part of the toast, the Télam authorities shared with the workers the trailer for “The Means of War”the documentary that investigates the coverage of the Argentine and foreign press on the armed conflict that occurred in 1982.

The documentary will be released this Thursday at 10 p.m., in commemoration of International Journalist’s Day, through www.telam.com.arY simultaneously with Public Television Y some of the channels that make up the Federal Council of Public Television.

“It is a very hard job that we have been doing throughout the year”said the vice president of Télam, Antonia Portaneri, and stressed that the documentary will be accompanied by “The photos recovered from Malvinas”, a sample of unpublished images that are part of the documentary archive of Télam, taken by their special envoys to the islands during the Falklands War.

The exhibition is made up of photographs that the professionals of the Télam archive have managed to value after the repeated thefts and illegal sales suffered for years, irreparable losses to which were added the lack of interest and the lack of policies for the conservation of this type of materials.

“The Télam archive comes in a process of reconstruction and recovering a very important space because it makes memory”assured.

The exhibition will be exhibited starting this Friday at 6:00 p.m. at the Kirchner Cultural Center and will later become a traveling exhibition that will reach the provinces of Chaco, Tierra del Fuego, San Juan, Buenos Aires, Misiones, San Luis, Catamarca and Formosa, and the city of Bariloche, Viedma, Las Lomitas, Comodoro Rivadavia, among others.

“It generates a lot of pride to know that the provinces feel this project as their own, as a construction of which they are a part,” said the vice president.

“40 years after the Malvinas, we thought what we could do that would be different. We wanted to refer to what all of us really know in our daily work and that is how they told us about the war”Llorente explained.

Regarding the documentary, the president of Télam assured that it arose from the debate around fake news, which appears today “as something new but it is really historical.”

“When we refer to the past, we try to unmask the fake news that is part of our history and the ideas that have shaped our consciences, especially generations that did not experience Malvinas,” Llorente said.
