The singers Lenier Table and Daniel Hernández, Tekashi 6ix9ine, premiered the song “Leyenda viva”, the first collaboration between the Cuban and the controversial New Yorker.
Hours after its premiere on digital platforms such as YouTube and Spotify, the song reaches more than a million views and is a trend on social networks.
In the three-minute video clip, Tekashi 6ix9ine is seen distributing money to children, youth and adults in Pinar del Río, sharing with a group of people and wrapped in a Cuban flag, a gesture that has generated intense controversy in the social networks.
Lenier Mesa’s composition refers to his humble origins and the voice of the American rapper is heard: When there was no bread for breakfast, I was content. / When there was no car, I walked. / Before I felt like the owner of everything. / Now I am the same fool, with money and fame.
So far it is not known if the theme will be part of any record production.
Álvaro Lenier Mesa, better known as Lenier, was born in Güines (Mayabeque) and immigrated to the United States at the age of 15. In Miami he began to venture into the urban genre and some of his songs such as “Qué nochecita”, “How do I pay you” or “I’ll stay with you” have achieved great popularity.
For his part, Tekashi 6ix9ine born in Brooklyn, New York, is famous for his eccentricities and turbulent public life.
