A 50-year-old woman was arrested after selling ammunition for a shotgun to two minors, one of them was injured when handling the firearm.
The incident occurred over the weekend in San Germán, in the municipality of Yapacani. A 13-year-old boy accidentally shot another minor of the same age with a shotgun in his attempt to manipulate her.
According to the medical report, the victim was injured in the right part of the groin and suffered severe damage to his organs, She underwent three surgeries to save her life. Although, they must perform a fourth operation in a few months.
It was the father of the young man who struck the weapon, who denounced that the two adolescents left school early on Friday, September 30, and one of them smuggled out his grandfather’s hunting gun. Then they went to buy ammunition at the Veterinaria 2 de Noviembre, located in a central area of San Germán, where they bought five cartridges, at Bs 2 each.

As a result of this complaint, the Special Force to Fight Crime (Felcc) initiated an investigation and it was discovered that the veterinary had illegally: 140 rounds for 22 caliber weapons, 19 12 caliber pellets, 24 16 caliber pellets, 29 pellets 28 caliber and other amount of ammunition of different calibers in different boxes.
For this reason arrested the owner of the business, Irma BH (50)for the crime of illicit arms trafficking, which is punishable by 10 to 15 years in prison.
This afternoon, at a precautionary hearing, a judge sent the woman to the Montero prison with preventive detention for 60 days. Meanwhile, the injured minor continues his recovery at a clinic in Yapacaní.
