According to witness testimonies, the adolescent arrived in the community, which is half an hour from Buena Vista, with a delegation to participate in a football championshipafter that they went to the river that is near the field in order to cool off, without realizing that there is a deep pool in the place.
Neighbors and young people who were in the place they tried to help the teenager; however, they failed save his life. In addition, the resuscitation attempts made in the river and in the community health center, where he was taken, were in vain.
“In recent years, the minors who have drowned in that same place come from other towns, even two years ago a minor who arrived from Santa Cruz died. I think that that area should be marked to avoid more misfortunes,” expressed Lidia Martínez, president of the parents’ board of the community in contact with EL DEBER.
The minor, who responded to the name of David O., 13 years old is watched over by family and friends in Buena Vista.
