Santo Domingo.– A Teenager died after receiving an electric shock while using his cell phone connected to the current, in the La Otra Banda municipal district, Higüey municipality, La Altagracia province.
The victim was identified as Yandelis Moni Sánchezalthough his age has not yet been officially confirmed by the authorities.
According to preliminary reports, the youngest was manipulating the mobile device while it was plugged in, at which time he would have received the electric shock that caused his death.
The fact has caused deep consternation between family, friends and fellow studentswho expressed their pain for the tragedy and called to create greater awareness about the risks of using electronic devices connected to electrical energy without proper precautions.
