Relatives of Gabriel González, 16, reported that the young man, who was detained in the context of post-election protests, has been waiting for two weeks for his release ticket, after receiving precautionary measures between the 12th and 15th of this month. .
According to a note, raised by The Pitazothe young man is one of the 3 young people who remain in the Detention Center for Women and Adolescents of the Caraballeda Retention Center, in the custody of the Secretariat of Citizen Security of La Guaira.
Both González and the other 2 detained teenagers, whose names are not published at the request of their representatives, are awaiting the release ticket.
González’s relatives gave details of the case after learning that the young man has experienced anxiety and depression attacks, upon seeing that the vast majority of adolescents detained in Venezuela after the protests have been released.

«Even though they say that all the teenagers were released, my brother remains at the Caraballeda checkpoint. Our father, Pedro González, went with other relatives and spoke with prosecutor Tarek William Saab. He assured him that all the teenagers would be released, but here in Caraballeda there are two other boys and my brother who are still detained,” said Marbelys González, the teenager’s sister.
Marbelys González shared with El Pitazo a letter written by her brother Gabriel, given to her father, Pedro González, during the visit to the preventive detention center, on December 25, in which she exposes her desperation.
Marbelys explained that during the last presentation in the Macuto Criminal Judicial Circuit, on December 12, they informed Gabriel and his father that the teenager would receive precautionary measures, that is, he would be released from prison while his trial for terrorism and incitement to hatred continues. and obstruction of public roads, crimes imposed by the Public Ministry and accepted by the court of the Metropolitan Area of Caracas that is handling the case.
Despite the above, until this Saturday, December 28, Gabriel and his family are still waiting for the release order.
“As a family, this has not been easy. Our mother died a little over a year ago and we are still recovering from her loss and now we are fighting for the freedom of Gabriel, who did not commit any of those crimes that they say,” Marbelys noted.
The González family calls on the Public Ministry and the attorney general so that the approved precautionary measure be executed before the end of 2024, as they fear for Gabriel’s emotional and emotional state.
