The Minister of Ports and Airports, Silvio Costa Filho, anticipated this Monday (22), in São Paulo, that the auction of the Contaic Terminal of Porto de Santos (Tecon 10), on the coast of São Paulo, should take place between December 15 and 18 this year.
The information was released by the minister during macro day, an event promoted by Banco BTG Pactual and discussed the issue of infrastructure in the country. The event was also attended by the Minister of Transport, Renan Filho.
“Our expectation is that we make this auction possibly between December 15 and 18, at B3 [bolsa de valores de São Paulo]which will be fundamental to the development of the port of Santos, ”said Costa Filho.
“We have made the decision to make this auction, which is very important, because it will double the capacity of containers in the port of Santos. We are now waiting for the Union Court of Auditors, but I defend democratization, provided there is no market concentration impairing port operations,” he added.

Embraer
At the same event, the Minister of Ports and Airports also commented on the fact that the airline Latam announced an agreement with Embraer to acquire 74 E195-E2 aircraft. The package includes 24 confirmed deliveries and 50 purchase options, with the first aircraft scheduled to arrive in the second half of 2026.
“Today, Latam has announced the purchase of up to 74 new aircraft, which will strengthen Brazilian aviation, creating new destinations, new routes and expanding our route with South America. This should also happen with Gol and Azul, which possibly now in October, must be leaving judicial recovery. So, we are working hard to strengthen aviation,” said the minister.
Transportation
During the same event, the Minister of Transport, Renan Filho, projected that The current government should complete 21 road auctions by the end of this year.
“In the first year of President Lula’s government, as there were few projects, we made only two concessions. In the second year, we made seven. And this year we will make 12 road concessions, reaching approximately 21 [concessões] in the government [atual]. Next year, we will do between 10 and 15 [concessões]to end the government with 35 road concessions, ”said Renan Filho.
“This is today the greatest pipeline of the world’s road concessions, ”he said.
According to Renan Filho, the federal government has advanced in the dialogue with the market to provide better financial conditions and to guarantee legal certainty for companies interested in integrating the current ministry’s project menu.
“The highway portfolio is solid, robust and investing, because it has good projects, ensures profitability to the investor and all with transparency and safe. The past government, which claimed to be able to attract investment and dialogue, made only six concessions. We have already made 16 concessions, with 14 different winners, between investment funds and new companies.
Also according to the minister, the federal government also intends to hold new rail auctions until 2026. “We will launch notices in the market, we are discussing the Southeast Railroane and the Rail Rail, which is also a very important work.”
