Technical review is a mandatory requirement for all vehicles in Colombia and aims to verify its mechanical and security conditions. This procedure allows to evaluate the status of fundamental elements such as brakes, lights, suspension, address and polluting emissions, guaranteeing that the cars comply with the standards established to circulate on the country’s roads.

The process is carried out in the automotive diagnostic centers (CDA) and seeks to identify failures that can represent a risk for both the driver and the other road actors. Costs of the Technical Review in 2025

The cost of technical review It is determined from the base value unit (UVB), which for this year has been set at $ 11,552. Based on this value, the minimum and maximum price ranges are established for the different types of vehicles.

This calculation is based on factors such as antiquity, weight and category of the car, which generates differentiated rates for heavy, light and motorcycles.

Rates for private light cars

For light vehicles for particular use, rates vary according to the age of the car. The costs range between $ 279,163 and $ 329,561 for cars with up to two years old. For those between three and seven years, the range is $ 279,563 to $ 329,961. In the case of vehicles with an age of eight to sixteen, the cost is between $ 279,863 and $ 330,261. For motor vehicles with more than seventeen years, the values ​​are again between $ 279,563 and $ 329,961.

Heavy and electrical vehicles rates

Heavy vehicles, which They exceed four tons of weight in body, have costs that range between $ 451,456 and $ 534,301. On the other hand, public service vehicles with electric motor have differentiated rates, ranging from $ 225,657 to $ 259,929, as part of an incentive policy to reduce the environmental impact.

Motorcycle rates

Motorcycles also have a price structure based on their age. For models with up to two years, the cost of the technical review is between $ 189,204 and $ 220,047. Motorcycles with an age of three to seven years must pay between $ 189,504 and $ 220,347. In the case of those with eight to sixteen, the rate ranges between $ 189,704 and $ 220,547. Finally, for motorcycles with more than seventeen years, the values ​​are again between $ 189,504 and $ 220,347.
