Teaching at the Guayubín school suspended until Monday

The Ministry of Education suspended teaching until next Monday at the school Aurora Tavárez Belliard, from the municipality of San Lorenzo de GuayubinMontecristi province, where on Wednesday at least nine were intoxicated teachers by inhaling a chemical that would have spread on campus.

The authorities explained that they will not teach until the aforementioned date to submit the center to a disinfection process.

The toxic substance only affected the teachers from the center, who were treated in different health centers and dispatched to their respective homes.

So far it is unknown who or who sprayed the chemical that affected the teachers.

The police authorities deepen the investigation in order to establish responsibilities.

Preliminary reports rule out that the substance has been spread by workers fumigating a nearby farm, since no bad odors are perceived outside the campus.

the second case

This is the second report of poisoning by inhalation of substances in a school from the country.

On Tuesday in Polo, Barahona, in the southwest, some 23 children and three teachers from the Alberto Féliz Bello high school, were hospitalized affected by gases that were thrown by unknown persons into one of the center’s classrooms.
