The director of the Alfredo Vásquez Acevedo Institute (IAVA), Leonardo Ruidíaz, was removed from office by the Education authorities, for refusing to evict members of the student union from the union hall that they have in the center located in Montevideo, according to reports from the capital.
This measure generated the reaction of the teachers’ union that expressed “repudiation” for the repression of the director Ruidíaz, and called a 24-hour strike for this Thursday the 13th.
