The teachers sold the theses between 20 and 25 thousand pesos to the students. Those responsible could be expelled from the educational institution. “Goodbye! Good luck to you,” said the rector about the future of those involved.
The authority noted early that there were between four and six professors under investigation. At the end of the investigations, the sanctions will be announced, including the termination of contracts.
Later, the University specified that five professors were suspended for the sale of 15 thesis works to students from the academic divisions of Basic Sciences and Engineering and Architecture.
The rector pointed out that the University “is doing its job in terms of detecting both the illegal sale of theses and the identification of plagiarism through the anti-plagiarism software that the educational institution has.”
Among the cases, two undergraduate works were detected “that presented 45% coincidences, of which their authors have collaborated in the investigation.”
