More than a thousand teachers came from the 31 federations that has the national magisterium to the city of La Paz. While the teachers from La Paz are also getting ready for tomorrow morning when they will begin their periodic marches with the aim of exerting pressure and achieving dialogue with the Government.
“The mobilizations are not contradictory to the dialogue, but we have tired of sitting down to see the face of the Minister of Education and hearing the same answers, ‘you can’t, there is no money, it doesn’t correspond’; that is, the dialogue must bear fruit, it not only has to be a place where we listen to arguments, declared the executive of the La Paz teachers, José Luis Álvarez.
Since the beginning of school work, on February 1, teachers and government sat down to talk and to avoid the suspension of school work, although without success, for this second month, the educators decided to put pressure on their meetings because they did not receive any positive response from the Government.
More than 300 teachers from Santa Cruz traveled to the Government headquarters to support the protests promoted by the sector demanding compliance with 200 points of the petition. Likewise, it was reported that 400 teachers traveled from Cochabamba and another 200 from Chuquisaca, the rest of the federations had to send between 30 to 40 delegated teachers who will join the La Paz teachers.
“We have asked them to discuss, debate the more than 200 points, on Friday night, Saturday, Sunday, until the topics are exhausted, but they have asked us again for the fourth intermission, at this moment we are in the fourth intermission and marching is unnecessary when we are in fourth intermission”, demanded the Minister of Education, Edgar Pary.

This Monday, the seat of Government is expected to collapse throughout the center because the teachers warned with a “blockade of 1,000 corners” which consists of placing a group of teachers at each corner, blocking the passage, which means paralyzing traffic in the entire center.
For now, the teachers who traveled to La Paz are leaving their corresponding replacements; However, if there is no response from the government, the Santa Cruz teachers will paralyze school work, warned the executive of that department, Osmar Cabrera.
